Ressourcen für Biobanken

Für Biobanken, die zwischen den Interessen von Spender*innen humaner Bioproben und Forschenden vermitteln müssen, spielen ethische, rechtliche und soziale Fragen (Ethical, Legal, and Societal Issues – ELSI) eine zentrale Rolle. 


    Die Sammlung, Lagerung und Nutzung humaner Bioproben und zugehöriger Daten muss ethisch vertretbar und rechtlich abgesichert sein. Daher ist der Bereich „ELSI“ (Ethical, Legal, and Societal Issues) für das Biobanking von grundlegender Bedeutung. Die ELSI-Forschung und -Beratung nimmt Themen wie die Rechte der Probenspender*innen, den Datenschutz und gesellschaftliche Diskurse in den Blick. Eine wesentliche Voraussetzung für die ethische und rechtliche Zulässigkeit des Betriebs von Biobanken ist die Einwilligung der Probenspender*innen.  

    Maßgebliches Gremium ist in Deutschland die Arbeitsgruppe Biobanking des Arbeitskreises Medizinischer Ethik-Kommissionen in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland e. V. (AKEK), mit der sich der German Biobank Node (GBN) zu Fragen in diesem Bereich abstimmt.

    Der GBN stellt auf dieser Seite eine Sammlung von Informationen, Mustertexten und Links zu einschlägigen Organisationen zur Verfügung. Eine sehr gute Einführung sowie zahlreiche Materialien und Vorlagen bietet auch die Übersichtsseite „Biobanken“ auf der AKEK-Website.
